Warsaw – The Polish government has submitted a proposal for the purchase of 96 new AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to the United States. Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said the AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopter his country wants will be equipped with an integrated infrared laser.
This feature enables easier targeting and enhanced infrared imaging for infrared and night vision. In addition communication systems, navigation, and sensor enhancements are also included. The new Apache is equipped with the Cognitive Decision Aid System (CDAS) for the first time.
The new AH-64E Apache attack helicopter is also equipped with Link 16 communication features as well as Manned-Unmanned Teaming EeXpanded (MUMT-X) software. With this feature Apache pilots can directly control the unmanned aerial system (UAV) from the cockpit while piloting the helicopter.
Poland is increasing its military might. Prior to this, Poland purchased 250 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams main battle tanks from the US, K2 Black Panther tanks, and K9 SPH from South Korea.
